MGD1 to Produce Pune Leg of Women’s Grand Prix for the FIDE Broadcast

The fifth leg of the FIDE Women’s Grand Prix is all set to start on April 14th in Pune, India. The tournament will be hosted at the luxurious Amanora The Fern Hotels and Club Pune, a place known for it’s hospitality and vibrant atmosphere in the heart of Maharashtra.

A total of 10 players from 7 different federations will be in the city, showcasing their skills over the 64 squares. Players will be competing for the precious Grand Prix points and the 120,000 euros Prize fund. The field is an absolute mix of experience and youth, of seasoned Grandmasters and rising stars, and of fighting spirits and resilience.

We at MGD1 are proud to be part of this global event. Our team will be leading the broadcast production for the official FIDE YouTube Channel. For the final few rounds, Chess.com India will also be covering the tournament with IMs Tania Sachdev and Rakesh Kulkarni and CM Sahil Tickoo in the commentary room. We will be working to bring the games, the ever engaging commentary, and live coverage of the complete tournament to your homes!
The production team will be headed by our co-founder, Manu Gurtu. Vansh Pandya and Nikolai Shariff will be managing the everyday operations. This team had also managed broadcast at the Chennai Grand Masters 2024. With learnings and experiences from the same, we are all set to make the Pune leg of the Women’s Grand Prix a memorable experience for everyone!
